Bruce grew up on the beautiful coastline of South Africa in a city called Port Elizabeth. When he was 10 years old his swimming coach noticed an imbalance in his swimming stroke. His coach suggested that Bruce be assessed by a chiropractor and sure enough his spine had been out of align. He began having regular spinal adjustments and it made the world of difference as that season he was awarded a trophy for being the top swimmer in his age group in the province. He continued to excel in swimming, water polo and surf lifesaving whilst going for regular chiropractic adjustments.
He studied Chiropractic at the Durban University of Technology, a six year Masters degree. On completion he was awarded the honorary title, Doctor of Chiropractic. In the last ten years he has practised as an associate and helped build some of the most successful practices in the UK. He has had the privilege of working with celebrities like Tom Kerridge, David Emanuel, PGA winning golf players and world champion power-lifters, to name a few.
He is certified in Chiropractic Biophysics which uses applied mathematics and mechanical engineering principles to correct spinal alignment and is the most well researched technique in chiropractic. It is a patient centred approach which means individualised patient specific treatment protocols which include mirror image spinal adjustments, mirror image postural exercises and structural rehabilitation through 3 point bending traction.
Bruce enjoys family time, fitness activities and is a rugby union fan. He is extremely passionate about giving every person the best structural corrective Chiropractic care enabling them to achieve their Healthiest, Happiest, Highest quality life!
Holly is the local member of the Optimal Align team, and grew up just down the road in Sandhurst, Berkshire. She has dedicated the last 12 years to the Chiropractic profession and has worked alongside many Chiropractors and Physiotherapists running the Operations in Practice.
She has a background in Psychology, Human Resources and Client Services and is passionate about delivering the best service possible in everything she does. She was awarded the United Chiropractic Association ‘Chiropractic Assistant of the Year 2017’ in the UK for her dedication to the profession. She is married to Dr Bruce and they welcomed their daughter, Bonnie, in to the world in March 2018.
She enjoys health and fitness, holidaying, spending time with her friends and family, cooking up a storm in the kitchen, eating cheese and is a massive Game of Thrones fan!
Katie has been fascinated with the human body from a very young age and how important it is to look after it the best possible way. Growing up in Sydney, Australia and attending a sports high school she was always learning the importance of a healthy body and the huge role it plays in day to day life.
It was not until she was 15 that she completely understood that it was not just sports and exercise that could cause strain and tension on the body, It was every day life too! After starting a hairdressing apprenticeship and experiencing back and neck pain at such a young age, It was at this point she started receiving massage and chiropractic care. This opened up a whole new world to Katie and from this point she knew it was a lifestyle and not just a treat!
Fast forward a few years Katie moved to the UK and started working for a local Chiropractic and Physiotherapy company in Windsor, After running the clinic for a couple years, Katie decided it was time to start her own venture in Raynor Deep Tissue Massage. Katie took action and completed her Diploma in Raynor Massage and has now had her mobile massage business for 2 years and has clients from all ages, sizes and sporting abilities. Katie is passionate about the human body and its ability to heal itself. She is very excited to be part of the Optimal Align Team!
Paeng comes from a Sales, Client services and Marketing background. She prides herself in being a people person, highly organised and an effective communicator. She loves working with people and having the opportunity to be able to be a part of someone’s chiropractic journey is really rewarding. Paeng has come from a creative background, she holds a degree in Fine Arts and is passionate with all things creative. In her spare time she enjoys, interior design, culture, photography and crime documentaries on Netflix and reading books based on psychology and serial killers- the mind really fascinates her! Being new to chiropractic and being a CA, she has thoroughly enjoyed learning about the spine and how the nervous system is important to having a healthy, happy body and lifestyle and is keen to continue learning and developing her knowledge further.
Barney grew up locally in wokingham and completed his bachelors degree in sports science at Kingston University London. He has had a keen interest in sports such as judo, rowing and rugby and is a qualified personal trainer. Barney regularly participates in strength and conditioning based exercise and enjoys keeping up to date on research exploring the benefits of exercise on wellbeing. Barney studied in California during his time at university and spent four months working in Australia. In his spare time Barney enjoys reading books on psychology and is an avid cook. Barney is thrilled to be putting his degree and personal training qualification to good use and is enjoying learning about chiropractic treatment and its many benefits.
