Meet the Team

Dr. Bruce

Doctor of Chiropractic

Dr. Bruce HilliganBruce grew up on the beautiful coastline of South Africa in a city called Port Elizabeth. When he  was 10 years old his swimming coach noticed an imbalance in his swimming stroke. His coach suggested that Bruce be assessed by a chiropractor and sure enough his spine had been out of align. He began having regular spinal adjustments and it made the world of difference as that season he was awarded a trophy for being the top swimmer in his age group in the province. He continued to excel in swimming, water polo and surf lifesaving whilst going for regular chiropractic adjustments.

He studied Chiropractic at the Durban University of Technology, a six year Masters degree. On completion he was awarded the honorary title, Doctor of Chiropractic. In the last ten years he has practised as an associate and helped build some of the most successful practices in the UK. He has had the privilege of working with celebrities like Tom Kerridge, David Emanuel, PGA winning golf players and world champion power-lifters, to name a few.

He is certified in Chiropractic Biophysics which uses applied mathematics and mechanical engineering principles to correct spinal alignment and is the most well researched technique in chiropractic. It is a patient centred approach which means individualised patient specific treatment protocols which include mirror image spinal adjustments, mirror image postural exercises and structural rehabilitation through 3 point bending traction.

Bruce enjoys family time, fitness activities and is a rugby union fan. He is extremely  passionate about giving every person the best structural corrective Chiropractic care enabling them to achieve their Healthiest, Happiest, Highest quality life!

Harriet

Chiropractic Rehab Assistant

Harriet has a diverse history with the human body. Similar to others in the team, her interest began from a young age, when she began dancing at the age of 4. Dance has been a passion of hers since, which also led her to teach dance, fitness and yoga classes abroad.

Before joining the Optimal Align team, Harriet spent some time working in funeral care, which gave her a unique perspective on human life and the physical form. Consequently she decided she wants a career that allows her to help people live a better quality of life long before it’s too late.

As well as physical health, Harriet also believes in taking care of the mental self. She practices mindfulness techniques and uses activities such as painting and sculpture – which she studied at degree level in the Netherlands – to meditate. She remains as devoted to dance, dancing at least three times a week, as well as cooking vegetarian foods and learning Korean.

Harriet thoroughly enjoys interacting and building relationships with people from all walks of life. As a member of the Optimal Align team she assists our clients all the way through their journey with us.

Sacha

Rehab and Traction Assistant

Sacha has played sport since a very young age. Playing football for a variety of academies and representing Berkshire Rugby for three years, he had dreams of developing this further into a fulltime career. However, after experiencing different injuries ending further development in this area, he became fascinated in the rehabilitation process.

Sacha went to Brunel University London, studied Sport Science and obtained a first class honours degree. Sacha specifically enjoyed studying human anatomy and physiology. It was during this time he understood how vital exercise is to functionality and exercise can improve life.

Sacha wanted to share his knowledge and experience. Whilst studying at Brunel University Sacha trained to be a level 3 personal trainer because he enjoyed making a difference to other people’s lives too. He enjoyed helping people of all ages to meet their goals and improve their lives through exercise.

Sacha is passionate about sharing his experience and knowledge to help people of all ages and conditions to recover from injuries and ultimately help people live their life to their fullest.

Sacha enjoys being part of the Optimal Align Team making a difference to others health and ultimately their lives and he looks forward to meeting you.

Beth

Chiropractic Admin Assistant

Beth is from Dover, Kent and recently moved up to Reading with her husband, Luke, and their French Bulldog, Narla.

Before joining the Optimal Align team, Beth spent 10 years in the beauty industry. She spent some of that working on a cruise ship in Europe and the Caribbean before retuning to dry land and working as a hairdresser. Now, Beth has set her sights on a career that allows her to help people in a less superficial way.

During furlough where the salon was closed, Beth developed an interest in nutrition and took an online course to earn a Diet and Nutritional Advisor diploma.

Beth enjoys cooking nutritious meals with Luke and pole fitness. She also makes soy candles, finding the process to be relaxing and rewarding.
